did you get the box of cookies yet??
I sent you the ANNUAL HOLIDAY BOX OF SUGAR....included is this weeks recipe from TWD = Grandma's All Occasion Sugar Cookies. This is also one of the recipes I SO WANTED and bought the book for. I didn't take pictures - what was I thinking? And, we have already shared and eaten ours. I didn't frost them just put sugar sprinkles on top. LOTS of sprinkles. Who can't use more sprinkles in their life? If Dad and Rez have not eaten them all - send pictures! tee hee.
We like them. Hubby prefers more of a butter sugar cookie so he requested my 'regular' recipe - which, is your recipe.
The Boys here did have a stash of them - shaped like dog bones. YES, of course, I have a dog bone shaped cookie cutter. Of. Course. I am THAT person.
Check out actual pics and the recipe at (you can brush up on your German too, tee hee) Kuchenlatein.
Love yous.

home for the holidays
Our home has been Christmas ready for several weeks. I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting out all my ornaments and hanging them. Most are from you and I love to look at them - and, think of your white & pink Christmas tree.
Here is our tree......
I am very happy I bought an artificial tree. I look forward to having this for years and years. Instead of cutting down trees - we are going to plant a tree every year in our back yard. I am very excited about that! It's one of our steps to be more "green".
The table with my Jack-O-Ornament collection, my Red Wing Batter bowl, the Lighted Box I created this year and other Holiday Treats.
My Mouse and the Reindeer ......Bradyn made him. He is so cute.
Here is our "other" tree.
The Pencil Cactus which needs a trim....but instead got trimmed for the holidays.
Snowflake garland.....blue, white and silver..
and red fuzzy birds....
He is large and we love him.
Finally - this is what I did TODAY. Two cedar dogs beds for the living room. They are washable - I put the cedar chips in a pillow case, sewed it shut then snapped them inside. The bumpers are the poly fill from 3 cheap pillows that have been laying around here.
I had all the materials - including snaps - on hand. It took 4 hours but they are done, look nice and I didn't have to spend too much $$$ for a dog bed. Besides, I couldn't find a cedar one like this so...I made them.
Someone else, who is NOT a dog, thinks they belong to him. He is in attack position so I don't throw him off of it. I'll wait for the other fuzzy animals to do that...
And a quick note to Rez ...the One-Eye Cat misses you.

cards and stuff...
It has been a few weeks since i have posted recipes from TWD. i have been baking but we've had camera issues so i only have my cell phone available. We've had Rice Pudding and Thanksgiving Twofer Pie. We hated the rice pudding basically because I missed the notice of a typo in the recipe. The pie I made on Thanksgiving - it's a layer of pumpkin with pecan pie on top. Very good. Love the combo but I don't think I'd pick it over a great big piece of YOUR pecan pie!
Here are a few card and treat creations.
This is a treat bag I put together using PTI's Holiday Treats stamp set and some paper I had on hand. It's for a co-worker's birthday. I am filling with some nice chocolates. (You'll see this stamp set on some stuff I sent you and Dad - the annual box of sugar!)
This is the matching card - no stamping. Just a rub on from Stampin Up, some paper, ribbon and sticky brads.
This is Mr. Hunter's birthday card. I had the paper on hand and used PTI's Pond Life stamps for the rest. The little duck is mounted with 3d squares so he rises above the rest. I think I'll get him a gift card to a toy store or something.
This is Oldest Brother's birthday card. The snowman is from PTI's Believe Stamp set - I added a little snow with Liquid Applique, punched snowflakes with a Marvy punch with a little bling in the middle. I think it's manly enough - and NOT Christmas-y - I know he hates Christmas stuff for his birthday. He'll be getting a lump of coal for his birthday - KIDDING. He'll probably get a gift card too.

I am sure I'll go with the new Visa Gift Cards - hate the fees on them but more useful!
ok - love you.
ok - love you.

p.s. do you remember what today is? I know. I know. I didn't tell you this morning on the phone cause you were feeling sicky-icky. Hope you feel better.
